Abstract

This research investigates the juristic methodology of Tayseer (facilitation) in Islamic law, emphasizing its foundation in the Qur’an and Sunnah as a manifestation of the divine principle of Yusr (ease). The study explores how Islamic legislation seeks to balance obligation and compassion, ensuring that religious duties remain within human capacity. Through a critical textual and analytical approach, the research examines relevant Qur’anic injunctions, Prophetic traditions, and interpretations by classical jurists such as al-Qurṭubī, al-Shāṭibī, and Ibn Nujaym. It highlights that facilitation (Tayseer) is not merely a concession but a core objective of Shari‘ah (Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah), rooted in mercy, justice, and human welfare. The article further contextualizes this principle in contemporary life, illustrating how Islamic law accommodates social change while preserving its ethical essence. The study concludes that Tayseer represents a universal framework that sustains the balance between divine command and human ease, affirming the timeless adaptability of Shari‘ah.
